Mirrors
three-channel video & spatial installation, PVC pipe structure and wide-angle lenses, 5 minutes, dimension variable
“Mirrors are filled with people. The invisible see us. The forgotten recall us. When we see ourselves, we see them. When we turn away, do they?” This is a quote from the book Mirrors: Stories of Almost Everyone by Eduardo Galeano, a Uruguayan writer that I admire."Theater" is regarded as a method of social art practice. By recruiting the public to rehearse, theater and reality can be integrated in the present, trying to capture the problems and contradictions of the city through the art training of ordinary people.Based upon the collective anxiety that we are undergoing, Mirrors discusses how we deal with the society. These dream talks will make the viewers detach from the reality and gaze at others, entering a state of collective imagination.
